Prior exercise prevents prolonged sitting-induced leg endothelial dysfunction. Popliteal artery flow-mediated dilation (FMD) measures were performed in the supine position before and after 3 h of sitting on two different visits: with vs. without prior exercise. The exercise bout consisted of 45 min of cycling exercise at a moderate intensity (average workload = 86 ± 5 W, average relative exercise intensity = 71 ± 3% age-predicted maximal heart rate). n = 15. *P < 0.05 vs. before; †P < 0.05 between conditions.
