Upregulation of mir-203a represses MEF2C expression and leads to suppression of cell proliferation. Upregulation of mir-3065-3p represses MDGA1 expression and causes decreased cell-cell adhesion. Downregulation of KCNJ2 alters potassium homeostasis, results in low intracellular potassium concentration, and therefore promote apoptosis of epithelial cells.
