Overexpression of AtUCP1 results in increased expression of mitochondrial transcripts in flower buds. (A) The mtDNA content is higher in transgenic lines in control, drought stress, and recovery conditions. The expressions of (B) nuclear-encoded NADH-D and (C) mtDNA-encoded COXII were also higher in transgenic plants in all conditions analyzed. Bars represent the means of 5 plants ± SD.
