The isolates producing restrictocin have been re-identified as A. fumigatus (strains MDH 13462L = ATCC 34475 = NRRL 2869 and MDH 17070 = NRRL 3050 = ATCC 34506) (Arruda et al. 1992); see also Jong et al. (1996).

One of three isolates identified as A. halophilicus produced metabolites that are present in A. fumigatus (Frisvad et al., 2009, Frisvad and Larsen, 2016), so it was probably contaminated with A. fumigatus.
