Correlation of IC₅₀ (nM) vs EC₅₀ (nM) at the different receptor subtypes for based ligands. The mMC4R had a relatively linear correlation between receptor activation and ligand binding. At the mMC1R there appears to be relatively little correlation. The lack of correlation stresses the importance of studying ligands' binding affinity and functional effects in complementary assays. Data is shown as mean ± SEM.
