Inositol auxotrophy (Ino⁻ phenotype) of the OPI1^ffat and scs2Δ mutants at different temperatures. A suspension of BY4742 (wild type), YCY47 (OPI1^ffat), and SJY39 (scs2Δ) cells at a concentration of 1.0 A_{600 nm}/ml and four subsequent 1:10 serial dilutions of strains were spotted on I⁺C⁻, I⁻C⁻, I⁺C⁺, and I⁻C⁺ plates and allowed to grow for 2 days at 30 °C (A) or 34 °C (B). SJY425 (ino1Δ) serves as a control for the Ino⁻ phenotype.
