mgtE inhibits T3SS gene transcription in a ΔalgZR background. ΔalgZR strains with either the vector control or pmgtE were assayed under T3SS-inducing (+EGTA) conditions for β-galactosidase activity from the PexsD-lacZ reporter construct.
