Growth curves of the wild type (WT) or mutants grown in increasing concentrations of copper sulfate (CuSO₄). Overnight LB cultures were diluted to an OD of 0.01 in LB with 0.2% glucose and grown highly aerated at 37°C until reaching an OD of 0.2. Each strain was then inoculated 1:50 into a 96-well plate containing a total of 250 μl LB with the indicated concentration of CuSO₄. The OD₄₅₀ at 30-min intervals is plotted. The data are representative of three independent experiments. The strains used were 14028, JS2089, JS2087, JS2086, JS2091, and JS2092.
