Time-lapse imaging shows two type-II nematocytes (T0 & T2) dynamically growing and shrinking. By the final time point these cells have intertwined or connected to neighboring cells, forming a multicellular structure. Time intervals are 2 minutes with DIC microscopy and perfect focus. White carrot indicates cells of interest. Scale bar is 20 microns.
