Maize rhizosphere-associated bacterial and fungal community responses to soil provenance and infestation with western corn rootworm. Ordination plots of analyzed samples were generated based on correspondence analysis (CA) of (A) bacterial 16S and (B) fungal ITS2 OTU by sample matrices. Bacterial and fungal communities were assessed through amplicon sequencing of the 16S and ITS2 regions of the ribosomal DNA, respectively. N = 8 rhizosphere samples per soil provenance (colors) and infestation (shape) treatment combination. The percentage of variation explained by each axis is shown.
