Computationally predicted principal strain distributions throughout the entire tibia and at multiple representative cross-sections (25%, 37%, 50% and 75% relative to the proximal end) for the LC and GorabPrx1 limbs loaded with 5 N in uniaxial compression in vivo. Red and blue indicate tensile and compressive strains, respectively. Strain gauge was attached on the medial surface of the tibial midshaft to measure the longitudinal strain there experimentally.
