(A) BMDMs from WT and DNase X^−/− mice were incubated with DH82 cell lysate or host cell-free E. chaffeensis (Ech) at 37°C for 2 h. Whole-cell lysates were prepared and subjected to Western blotting with antibodies against NOX2, p22^phox, and actin. (B) The relative amounts of p22^phox and NOX2 were calculated by normalizing the band intensities with actin, and the ratio observed in the control group (DH82 cell lysate) was arbitrarily set to 100%.
