Viability data are for the 3D7 strain (7). γ is fixed to be 1.7892 based on estimates in Table S1 in the supplemental material. The model-based 95% CI and parametric bootstrap 95% CI are introduced in Materials and Methods. The rate of stress development, λ, can also be understood as the rate at which the “unstress” state is lost, and the half-life (hours) of the unstressed state can be calculated simply by ln(2)/λ and is shown in parentheses following the estimates of λ.
