Knockdown of HIF-1α abolished the chronic hypoxia-upregulated Orai2 expression, while not affecting the upregulation of Orai1 in distal PAs of transgenic mice. HIF-1α+/+ and HIF-1α+/− mice were subjected to chronic hypoxia (10% O2, 21 days) or normoxia. Orai1 (a) and Orai2 (b) mRNA relative to 18 s was measured by qRT-PCR.
