Selective α-hydroperoxidation/lactonization of aromatic cyclic/linear ethers by ¹O₂. All substrates (0.35 M, in DCM-ACN (9:1)) were irradiated by blue LEDs (40 mW cm⁻²) for 12 h at room temperature in the presence of 1 × 10⁻⁵ M of meso-TPP, ~ 1 atm O₂ balloon, and in the presence of γ-Al₂O₃. All yields were reported based isolated yields (after removal of the unreacted starting substrate)
