Catalase overexpression alleviates cardiac pathology in diabetic mice. Heart sections in diabetic mice at 8 weeks were stained with Sirius Red (A) or Haematoxylin and Eosin (HE) (C), and the condition of the myocardial fibres and the extent of collagen accumulation were assessed under a light microscope. Tissues stained with Sirius Red (B) and HE (D) were semi‐quantitatively analysed, as described in the Materials and methods. Magnification, ×200; bars = 100 μm.
