Cryo-EM images of M. smegmatis infected with Ms6wt or Ms6ΔlysB. At 90 min post-adsorption, cells infected with Ms6wt (A) or Ms6ΔlysB (C) are still intact and no difference is observed. At 150 min post-adsorption, the abrupt burst of a cell infected with Ms6wt is clear (B) while cells infected with Ms6ΔlysB (D) do not lyse abruptly and deformations in the cell envelope are clearly visible.
