Fig 4 — DHCA reduced cell viability and induced apoptosis in cancer cell lines: (A) DHCA inhibited the growth of colorectal carcinoma cell lines HCT-116 and HCT-15 and cervical carcinoma cell lines HeLa and SiHa in a time and dose dependent manner. (B) 50μM Oxaliplatin induced cancer cell death in colon and cervical cancer cells at 24h, 48h and 72h. (C) Induction of cancer cell death by DHCA treatment enhanced the release of lactate dehydrogenase from cells at 48h. VC indicates vehicle control (1% DMSO). (D) DHCA did not inhibit the viability of Raw 264.7 (mouse macrophage cell line) cells even at the dose of 3000μM.
