FIG 3 — Assembled particles produced in mutant infected cells under permissive and restrictive conditions. The curves represent 280-nm absorbance profiles of infected cell extracts analyzed by rate zonal sedimentation. Gradient parameters were designed to detect assembled particles sedimenting between 132S and 70S, which would contain infectious provirions (132S), virions (114S), procapsids (108S), and degraded procapsids (70S).
