Shown is a Western blot analysis on whole-cell (W) and cell-free supernatant (S) fractions of ΔcpaAB M2 expressing empty vector. pWH-cpaB-his and pBAV-cpaA-flag or pWH-cpaB_pelB-his and pBAV-cpaA-flag were probed for CpaB-His. All fractions were probed for RNA polymerase as a lysis control. CpaB-His was detected in all cells carrying pWH-cpaB-his or pWH-cpaB_pelB-his. Secretion of CpaB-His was detected in cells carrying pWH-cpaB_pelB-his. CpaA* is a degradation product from CpaA-FLAG.
