Decreased SR Ca²⁺ content and increased SRCa²⁺ leak in VM from Akita mice are partially reversed in pravastatin treated Akitas. Cytosolic Ca²⁺ was determined in cells paced at 1 Hz for 20 sec followed by switching for 20 secs to 0 Na⁺ and 0 Ca²⁺ and 1mMol/L tetracaine to inhibit Na⁺ flux followed by 10mM caffeine.
