SE-HPLC and gel electrophoresis of three sizes of peptide-coated CdSe/ZnS nanocrystals. (a) Green (G), yellow (Y), and red (R) CdSe/ZnS nanocrystals emitting at 530, 565 and 617 nm respectively and coated with peptide 5 were separated on a size exclusion column against a 0.1 M PBS mobile phase. The diameter of the peptide-coated nanocrystals was calculated from the elution volumes to be 129.4 Å (±15%), 150.3 Å (±16%) and 164.8 Å (±14%) for the green, yellow and red samples, respectively.
