The Ndc80 complex is essential for Bod1 recruitment to mitotic kinetochores. (a) HeLa cells were treated with either control siRNA or Ndc80 siRNA. After 48 h cells were fixed in paraformaldehyde and stained with the indicated kinetochore proteins (green). Kinetochores of chromosomes on the metaphase plate within a single z-section are shown. Localization to the kinetochore—i.e. the interface between centromeric region (ACA, blue) and spindle microtubules (tubulin, red)—was compared. Scale bars are 1 µm.
