CLE genes respond differentially to symbiotic interactions. M. truncatula CLE genes with detected expression in nodules and roots were collected. The heat map shows the differential expression (as log₂ fold change) of inoculated roots (0.5 hpi–4 dpi) and nodules (10–28 dpi) compared with uninoculated roots as well as Myc-LCO-treated roots (sulfated and nonsulfated) compared with untreated controls. Hierarchical clustering has grouped the CLE genes into four groups (I–IV), labeled on the right.
