Select cytokine/chemokine secretion is up-regulated in ex vivo pancreatitis using human acini. Cells were kept untreated (Control) or treated for 16 hours with 1 mmol/L carbachol (CCh) or 0.5 mmol/L taurolithocholic acid 3-sulfate (TLCS). Cytokines and chemokines released into the media were measured by a membrane-based human cytokine/chemokine array (36 cytokines/chemokines; catalog number ARY005B; R&D Systems). Optical density (arbitrary units) for all 15 detected cytokines/chemokines is shown. The following cytokines/chemokines were tested, but not detected, in conditioned media: IL-1α, IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL-8, IL-10, IL-12, IL-13, IL-16, IL-17A, IL-17E, IL-21, IL-32a, IL-18, IL-27, interferon-γ, C5/C5A, chemokine (C-C motif) ligand (CCL) 1, CXCL12, CD40 ligand, and TREM-1.
