(c) Safranin O fluorescence after addition of 5 mM succinate and 1 mM glutamate to 0.15 mg of protein/ml. Assay conditions are as shown in Figure 2(b), except 2 µM safranin substituted Amplex UltraRed and horseradish peroxidase in (c). Concentration of FCCP was 0.1 µM.
