We found higher LAPS at follow-up in diabetics compared to non-diabetics (0.13 ± 1.89 vs. − 0.38 ± 1.8, p = 0.002). DM patients also experienced an increase of LAPS during the study, unlike non-DM patients for which LAPS decreased (0.13 ± 1.79 vs. − 0.23 ± 1.66, p = 0.018)
