Decision-tree analysis for factors related to walking independence in patients with thalamic hemorrhage. The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score was placed in the first tier and patients were divided based on their score. For patients with an NIHSS score <6, the second tier was divided based on the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) score, while patients with an NIHSS score ≥6 were divided based on age. Regarding the third tier, patients with an MMSE score <21 were further divided according to the presence/absence of ventricular bleeding, while patients <74 years of age were divided according to the hematoma volume
