Brain Regions Activated during the Emotional Matching Task to Opposite-sex > Same-sex Faces

Anatomical Region x y z t k
R amygdala 14 −5 −12 5.9 103
L amygdala −17 −5 −10 4.9 114
R fusiform 41 −63 −14 10.5 3405a
L fusiform −43 −64 −15 8.1 a
Cingulate 0 11 39 4.4 1351
Middle frontal gyrus 2 −19 68 7.11 239

Participants’ age and sex are included as covariates. L and R refer to left and right hemispheres; x, y, and z refer to Talairach coordinates; t refers to the t score at those coordinates (local maxima); k refers to the number of voxels in each significant cluster. The amygdala is small volume corrected, with cluster-forming threshold of p < .05 with nine contiguous voxels, corresponding to p < .05, FDR-corrected. All non-a-priori regions are listed at cluster-forming threshold of p < .05 with 156 contiguous voxels, corresponding to p < .05, FDR-corrected. Regions marked with the same superscript letter are part of the same cluster.
