Overexpression of E-Syt1 or E-Syt-3 reduces viral yields. HeLa cells were transfected with plasmids expressing myc E-Syt1, myc E-Syt2, or myc E-Syt3. Twenty-four hours later, the cells were infected with wild-type HSV-1 at an MOI of 5 for 18 h. (A) Cell lysates were prepared, and exogenous protein expression was tested by Western blotting using anti-myc antibodies.
