In macrophages, let-7g can target NF-κB complex and its upstream molecules to knock down both canonical and non-canonical pathways. Through inhibition of the canonical pathway in macrophages, let-7g can reduce cell apoptosis, decrease inflammation and promote cholesterol efflux. The inhibition of non-canonical pathway leads to suppress macrophage movement, foam cell formation, response to oxidative stress and cell apoptosis.
