(c–h) Coronal brain section showing implanted Biocage within the mouse hippocampus. (f–g) are high magnification images of (c–e), respectively. Implanted Biocages were cryosectioned directly and is visible under light (c,f) and fluorescence (d and e, g and h) microscopy. Fluorescence imaging of DAPI staining (e,h) shows tissue entering through the uncapped top; however, no cells were observed through the pores along the side wall (e,h). Scale bars = 300 µm.
