Cognitive component	Texts were coded into this category when statements described lifestyle modifications, medications and symptom management.
Supportive components	Texts were coded into this category when statements assessed the patient’s or partner’s need of support, partner’s caregiver burden, modifying caregiver behaviour, strengthening self-care behaviour.
Behavioural components	Texts were coded into this category when statements described barriers to lifestyle modifications, strategies to improve or maintain self-care behaviour, intentions, abilities and self-efficacy regarding self-care, planning for the future.
