D) The Peyer’s patches in the treated rats showed more lymphoid follicles (white arrows) and a thinner appearance than in control intestines. Photographs were taken using a Carl Zeiss macro 100 lens with extension tubes. There were analysed 40 slices per group from at least 3 different animals.
