Toxin neutralizing activity of Supercluster II antibodies does not correlate with inhibition of cell attachment. The IC₅₀s of the Supercluster II V_HHs (from Table 2) and their abilities to inhibit ricin attachment to (A) asialofetuin (ASF) and (B) THP-1 cells (from Table 3) were subjected to linear regression analysis, as described in the Materials and Methods. There was no correlation in either assay between a V_HH’s ability to inhibit ricin attachment to receptors and toxin-neutralizing activity.
