Boxes at the right and middle represent the Shannon–Weaver diversity index obtained in meconium, 21-day and 2-year feces. Boxes on the right represent Shannon–Weaver diversity indexes previously obtained with the Human Intestinal Tract Chip (HITChip) in feces, from 2 and 4-year-old healthy infants and from healthy adults. The red bars on the top represent pairs of indices that were found to be statistically different (p < 0.001).
