Cine T2-weighted MR images in a 63-year-old biopsy-naïve patient with a PSA level of 6.25 ng/mL (same patient as in Figure 5) show an area of low signal intensity in the midline anterior transition zone. This patient underwent robotic-assisted prostatectomy. Whole-mount pathology specimens showed Gleason 4+4 disease corresponding to the identified lesion (Fig 5e). However, MR imaging, particularly in the left transition zone, resulted in underestimation of the extent of the lesion. In addition, a Gleason 3+4 lesion was present in the right peripheral zone (Fig 5e). MP MR imaging did not depict right midperipheral zone prostate cancer lesion.
