Effects of myricetin on the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway in human umbilical vascular endothelial cells (HUVECs). (A) HUVECs were treated with myricetin (0.25, 0.5, and 1 μM) for 24 hours. Protein samples (40 μg) were subjected to 6% to 15% SDS-PAGE and the levels of PI3K, PDK1, Akt, mTOR, and their phosphorylated forms were detected by Western blotting. (B) The cells were treated with myricetin in combination with an Akt inhibitor, LY294002, and the level of p-Akt was detected by Western blotting; β-actin was used as the internal control. Values represent the mean ± SD of three separate experiments. *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01 compared with control.
