Rate-distortion curves showing RMSE vs compression ratio for a hip implant image using sparsity of the Cz matrices and low rank + sparse components. Low rank + sparse compression ratios were computed with trunction of 1, 2, and 3 singular values of Cz. The highest efficiency was achieved with rank 1, corresponding to a single dominant resonance frequency. This high compressibility is expected to allow higher undersampling factors.
