Examination of the requirement for a balanced maternal: paternal genomic ratio in the endosperm of seeds produced by tetraploid sexual individuals of Potentilla puberula. Generalized linear mixed models revealed a significant (p < .001) and nonsignificant (p = .570) relation between seed set and germination rate, respectively, and Δ p (averaged for each flower), that is, the deviation of the observed number of parental genomes (p) in the endosperm from their number in endosperms with balanced parental genomic ratios (2m:1p).
