Reproductive mode refers to the prevailing mode of seed production, sexuality or pseudogamous gametophytic apomixis. Breeding system summarizes whether cytotypes are self‐incompatible (SI) or self‐compatible (SC) and the dominant mode of mating upon application of heteroploid pollen on the stigmas of nonemasculated flowers.
