Figure 3. Antibiotics administration impairs the curative effect of adoptive CD4+ T-cell therapy in a mouse colorectal tumor model.

The schema depicts the timeline of the experimental procedures. CT26HA tumors were subcutaneously injected to mice on the flank. A cohort of mice were provided with antibiotics-containing water during the course of experiment, starting 2 weeks before tumor inoculation. When tumor sizes reach ∼130mm2, mice were randomized into 3 groups to receive no treatment (no Tx), CTX only (CTX), or CTX followed by adoptive transfer of HA-specific CD4+ T cells (H2O, CTX+HA-CD4). Mice on antibiotics-containing water all received CTX and HA-CD4+ T cell transfer (Abx, CTX+HA-CD4). Tumor growth curves of each mouse under each condition are shown. The number of mice under each condition is provided.
