Deletion of fis decreased the biofilm formation and enhanced cell aggregation. (A) Quantitative characterization of biofilm formation of D. zeae wild-type strain EC1 and derivatives. Experiments were repeated at least three times in triplicates. (B) Cell aggregation of D. zeae wild-type strain EC1 and derivatives. Bacteria were grown at 28 °C with 200 rpm shaking in SOBG medium for 6 h. Photograph was taken after growth for 6 h.
