Mice received 2% DSS in the drinking water for 8 days and were sacrificed on day 12. Mice receiving tap water served as controls. Lamina propria (LP) cells were prepared from the colon by enzymatic digestion and subsequently analyzed by flow cytometry. The percentage of neutrophils and macrophages among LP cells was determined by staining with antibodies recognizing CD11b and Ly6G (left and middle panel), the percentage of CD4 T cells was determined by staining with antibodies recognizing CD3, CD4 and CD45 (right panel). GRflox mice: N = 4/11 (con/12), GRlysM mice: N = 2/8 (con/12). All values are depicted as mean ± SEM. Statistical analysis was performed by Newman-Keuls Multiple Comparison test (*: p <0.05, **: p <0.01).
