SDS-PAGE gels showing purified soluble forms of receptors, co-receptors, and cytokines. All soluble proteins were purified to more than 95% purity as estimated from the single band on SDS-PAGE. IL-36α, IL-36γ, and IL-36Ra migrate as a single band with a molecular mass of ∼17 kDa, which is consistent with theoretical molecular masses. IL-36R and IL-1RAcP show up as single band with a molecular mass of ∼49 kDa, which is higher than theoretical molecular mass of 37 kDa. Each half of the heterodimer is showing up as single band with a molecular mass of ∼70 kDa, which is higher than theoretical molecular mass of 63 kDa. Receptors showing higher molecular mass by SDS-PAGE are likely due to glycosylation (12).
