Photodynamic
inactivation of S. aureus (A), P. aeruginosa (B), and E. coli (C) in their stationary phase.
After 30 min in the different solutions
of 5Lys (10 μM for S. aureus and E. coli, 1 μM for P. aeruginosa in
PBS 1×), bacteria were washed three times with PBS. Then, they
were irradiated by white LED (4.83 mW/cm2, 7 J/cm2 corresponds to 24 min) at 37 °C. Bacterial survival rates (%
of initial densities) were plotted against cumulative light fluence
at different irradiation times.
