(A) Methylation of the BEND5 promoter decreased after treatment of DLD-1 cells with the DNA-demethylating agent DAC (5 μM) for 72 h. (B) BEND5 mRNA and (C) BEND5 protein increased following DAC treatment. (D) The DNA methylation level and mRNA expression of the control gene GAPDH were not changed by DAC treatment. The data are presented as the mean ± SD, *P ≤ 0.05, ***P ≤ 0.001. The experiments were performed with at least three technical replicates. The t test was used to calculate the group differences in all the experiments.
