Iron deficiency influences relative brain volumes at PND 32 and PND 61. Early life dietary iron status influences pig relative brain volumes for specific brain regions over time. Interactive effects of dietary treatment and MRI day were observed for relative brain volumes (i.e., brain region as a percent of total brain volume) in the (A) cerebellum (P < 0.001), (B) olfactory bulb (P < 0.03), and (C) putamen-globus pallidus (P = 0.01).
