Effect of SDHB on CRC growth in nude mice and the role of AMPK. HT29 cells (1×10⁶) were transfected with SDHB overexpression vectors or empty vectors, and were then injected into the left side on the back of each mouse (3 mice per group). At 12 days following injection, 5 mg/kg (body weight) AICAR (an AMPK inhibitor) was subcutaneously injected once a day for 6 days. The tumors were obtained and removed 20 days following the injection of cells. (A) Western blotting was performed to detect SDHB, AMPK and p-AMPK(Thr172) expression. (B) Images of the xenografted tumors are presented and tumor volumes were ascertained. *P<0.05, ^#P<0.05 and ^&P<0.05 vs. the respective control group.
