Table 2.

LRET Lifetime Decays and Calculated C289-Kir1.1b Distances

graphic file with name fx2.gif

Data were obtained from energy transfer between Tb donors and BODIPY-FL acceptors on tetrameric C289-Kir1.1b, self-assembled in proteoliposomes from single-Cys C289 dimers. τ denotes lifetime decay constants for donors and acceptor sensitized emission, f indicates fast donor state, and s indicates slow donor state. R0 is the distance corresponding to 50% energy transfer and r is the donor acceptor distance at the designated pH. The average distance between diagonal C289 residues in the CTD was 26.8 ± 3 Å at pH 6 and 27.0 ± 4 Å at pH 8.
